What it is

Welcome to a group designed for men who recognize the value of emotional and personal growth. If you’ve ever felt the societal pressure to hide your emotions, you’re not alone. Here, we challenge those norms and foster a space where men can be true friends, intimate partners, and family members. This group is about building deeper, more authentic connections.

This is both a support group and a process group. You’ll be in a group where other men hold vulnerability and authenticity as core values. Joe's role is to use neuroscience-backed techniques and processes to help the group overcome the barriers to a deeper, more authentic life. He also ensures that we don't overlook the funny and absurd moments that arise when a group of guys is working through life together.

Support Group vs. Process Group

Support groups focus on creating a strong sense of community. They offer a space where you can share your story with others who identify with your experiences. These groups often encourage and help address feelings of isolation in life’s challenges.

Process groups, on the other hand, are led by a professional facilitator with specific training related to the group's focus. They delve deeper into group members' challenges and facilitate a healing process.

Beneath the Surface combines the strengths of both support groups and process groups. You’ll not only be witnessed and supported by your peers, but you’ll also have the opportunity to connect with and transform pain points into new experiences of connection and healing. This group offers a comprehensive approach to personal growth, addressing the need for community and the desire for more profound, facilitated healing.

Details for Beneath the Surface

We meet weekly with an initial 3-month commitment. This allows the men’s group to build the consistency and trust needed to be real with each other. The group will have 8 to 10 members and be closed, meaning new members will only join when others leave.

These 90-minute group meetings are $95.

Day & Time: Tuesday Evenings, 5:30-7:00 PM EST, 4:30-6 PM CST, 3:30-5 PM MST, 2:30-4 PM PST (all time zones welcome)

While Joe’s years of experience and study as a trauma, sex, and relationship specialist shape the structure and guidance of the group, this is not a psychotherapy group. That means that this group can be more organic, and you don’t need a diagnosis or health record to be here.
